This past Saturday, one of our hardworking substitutes, Ruth Reed, was waiting in line at her local Wawa in Medford, NJ when she offered to help pay for a man’s order when he didn’t have enough cash. Ruth was surprised to learn that this man was famous country singer, Keith Urban! She has made it her mission to pay for at least one customer’s order per week, and this week her good nature led her into a chance meeting with the famous musician and a photograph to prove it.
ESS’ recent partnership with Gallup-McKinley County Schools in New Mexico has been a tremendous success! Since our partnership began in April, the district feels it now has the resources to provide better service to its students, and they have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from their staff and administrators about the ESS program. We are proud to offer such an effective solution to Gallup-McKinley County Schools and we look forward to a long and prosperous partnership.
On Wednesday, June 27th, the ESS team was thrilled to present Gina Toch with a scholarship at the Camden Schools Foundation’s awards ceremony. Gina, an honors student from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, NJ, will be heading to Rutgers University with a double major in accounting and finance. Her long-term goals include earning her MBA and landing an important job with the federal government.
Congratulations to Stephen Troyanovich for winning ESS’ Regional Employee of the Year award! Since January 2017, Steve has been working hard as a support paraprofessional at Northern Burlington County Regional High School in New Jersey. He goes above and beyond every day to help the school district by filling in last-minute to work in any classroom with any student, traveling outside of the district to work with one of their out-of-district students, and working the Extended School Year program over the summer. He even had perfect attendance for the 2016/2017 school year!
On Thursday, May 24th, Doug Snyder (Regional Vice President of ESS) presented three Long County High School seniors with $1,500.00 in scholarships at their school's senior banquet. The scholarship recipients were chosen by the district based on their exceptional academic performance. Congratulations to Amira Kuhaneck, Alex Maldonado, and Shelby Logan, and keep up the great work as you continue your education!
