This week marks one of the best weeks of the year – American Education Week! Dating back to 1921, this tradition is celebrated the week before Thanksgiving each November. This time of year has many of us reflecting on the things we are thankful for. Education is something that has touched all of our lives, and has helped to shape us into the people we are today.
The ESS Bucks County team participated in a cake donation event through Baking Smiles Inc., a non-profit organization that provides free birthday cookie cakes to under-privileged children throughout Pennsylvania. ESS Recruiter Irene Ofori delivered cakes to the Trevose YWCA Shelter on Wednesday, July 11th. From here, they will be distributed to families throughout the Trevose and Bensalem area.
Last Thursday, ESS had the pleasure of sponsoring the Bellmawr Public School District's Year-End Staff Appreciation Luncheon. ESS Regional Manager Mark Gallo took part in the festivities and had a great time. The fun-filled event featured a teacher cook-off with prizes awarded for the most popular culinary creations.
On Thursday, May 24th, Doug Snyder (Regional Vice President of ESS) presented three Long County High School seniors with $1,500.00 in scholarships at their school's senior banquet. The scholarship recipients were chosen by the district based on their exceptional academic performance. Congratulations to Amira Kuhaneck, Alex Maldonado, and Shelby Logan, and keep up the great work as you continue your education!
One of our favorite weeks of the year has arrived! May 7-11, 2018 marks National Teacher Appreciation Week (including National Teacher Day on Tuesday the 8th). Businesses and communities throughout the US are showing some well-deserved appreciation by offering some exciting deals and freebies to teachers! We've found that many of these promotions are open to substitutes as well, when you show your employee ID.
